Those with VDO Electronic Speedos

Had the mechanical one in my GNX style cluster go bad and now switching to an electronic one.
What pulse per mile did you use when calibrating the speedo. I know the stock VSS is converting it to 2000 ppm for the ecm but what does the speedo need to be accurate? is it 1000 ppm ???
