I have been looking into getting a thrasher chip. I see on their site they say it needs 45 psi at all times. I thought i have read that when i do the 86/87 conversion with the MAF, people have to run about 38 psi to prevent a rich mixture. Will the thrasher still work? or what do you do to get around the issue?

Secondly, i have a lead on an accufab black billit fuel pressure regulater for 110 bucks. It is listed for an 86,87 buick, will this fit on an 85? Are fuel pressure regulators specific to year? And if this will work, is 110 bucks a good deal, i am told is in essentially new.

Thanks,

Nathyn

All Thrasher chips were designed to work with the "237" fuel pressure regulator from the TTA. That is what is required for the chip to work. Adjusting the pressure up or down (with an Adjustable fuel pressure regulator), is just a fine tuning matter.

Can't help with the 85 fit-ment issue.:(

the regulators are the same.

like scott said, the thrasher chips are designed to work in an 87 car with 45 psi as a base, then fine tuned from there.hotairs don't usually need as much fuel as ic cars,so you will probably have to lower the fp some and tune using o2 mv.

later,sean
