Just a quick question.

Anyone have any experience or opinions on how well the Thrasher street chips run gas milage wise on the highway? Compared to the stock chip? Previous owner of my car said the best gas milage he ever got (w/ stock chip) was about 23-24 mpg on interstate road trips. I've put in the T92 chip in its place now. Anyone else here thats noticed a difference versus the stocker? The lean cruise mode work out well? Any rough estimate on improvment if so? Just curious, since I'll probably be taking it on a trip in the spring.

I have run Thrashers in my daily drivers for years. And I used to race with them when I used chips. To further qualify them I think they are the best chips ever made.

Now....as far as I'm concerned the lean cruise doesn't exist as I've never gotten good mileage with them. The best mileage I ever got was when I drove my T-Type back to the Nats in Columbus. On that trip I was using Red's 107 race chip for 009's since it was the only chip I had for those injectors. And since it was a race chip I NEVER got on it for the whole trip there and back plus I was totally freeway driving. I got 29 miles per gallon going and 28 coming back, average.

With my last daily using a Thrasher I never got better than 23 average...and with my present one I'm down at 21. These are both heavier GN's but not THAT much heavier.

b4 - 24...25
after - 27

I didnt check mileage very often or make any "effort" to get better mileage.

I didn't notice any difference between the Thrasher and the Jay carter chips I was using with the stock injectors. Both got me 21-22 mpg on the highway.

Lean cruise,
means a little leaner on fuel, and extra timing.
Means more heat in the piston dome, so when you go to pass the engine is more likely to detonate, and with the extra timing it's harder on bearings. vs Slightly higher gas bills. Long term I'll spend the money on gas, and avoid any extra engine work.

Keep fresh plugs in it, well tuned, a good O2 and your foot out of it is the best way to good mileage.

Thanks for the replies. I was just curious about others results with the chip. I'll just have to find out how it does when I get on the highway.
