Hi everyone.. I just picked these up over the weekend. I have no history on them whatsoever, all I can tell you is what can be determined by visual inspection. I am a professional mechanic by trade and have built many engines so I know what I’m looking at as far as engines go, but I have not had any of these blocks magnafluxed. What you see is what you get. I have inspected them to the best of my ability looking for cracks (in particular on the deck surface) and other damage and have found no indication of any. I am located in northern Nevada near Carson City. I’m willing to ship on your dime, but I’m not sure what the best method is, nor do I have an idea on cost. I would suggest you research that one if you are interested. Please also note, I am old school and do not use paypal, so if you are long distance the only payment I will accept is via US postal money order. I know this makes some folks hesitant, but I have been using this method for many years without issue. We will talk on the phone first to sort out the details, then I will send you a picture of my driver’s license which has my address on it that you would be sending the money order to, so you can see that I’m real. I don’t make any deals without talking on the phone first, to avoid scammers and time-wasters. Cash in person pickup is also absolutely an option as well, and preferred if you’re able to do so.
Please make sure you include your phone number when you message me. I’m happy to answer any questions you have, but please make sure you’re ready to make a deal once you reach out.
Please note, the pictures are not necessarily in order, but they show all three blocks. I have one assembled short block and two bare blocks with main caps. I also have one crankshaft by itself and one new timing cover.
Here’s what I have:
Block #1:
Assembled short block, block casting number 25514291, STANDARD bore with stock pistons, presumably on its original build. Bores look very good, only light wear and no ridge, largest one measures 3.9650”, no ridge. With factory forged crankshaft with rolled fillets. Also includes factory timing chain tensioner. No signs of damage, could possibly be a runner with a serious cleaning, but more realistically an excellent untouched starting point for a build. Price is $500.
Block #2
Bare block with main caps, casting number 25506484, excellent STANDARD bores with minimal wear and no ridge, largest bore measures 3.9665”, will probably only need .010-.015 to clean up. - $350
Block #3
Bare block with main caps, casting number 25514291, STANDARD bore with some light wear and slight ridge, should probably clean up at .030. Largest bore measures 3.9660” - $275.
Crankshaft
Factory forged crankshaft #877 with rolled fillets, measures standard/standard on rods and mains but has some wear probably needs to go at least .010/.010 undersize to clean up - $200
Timing cover
22 year old Pioneer 500231 brand new in box vintage timing cover Made In The USA (not china like the new ones). Application list says this will NOT fit turbo engines, but please do your research to see if it is what you need - $100
Package deal for everything listed here: $1,200 cash. All prices FIRM.
