i bought the ones from gbody and there not for a 85 ,and i think we have bronze seals:confused:

What do u mean they are not for an 85 ? I called and specifically said for an 85 I don't think they would just sell me something just because .... Their website says for 84-87 did u buy them and they didn't fit ? Or work ?

lol ...yup and i spoke to mike about 2 months ago and told him to let brian know they should change that ..it was only 20 bucks i just chalked it as a loss no biggie ,just look at the seals in the pic and tell me were you think they will go after looking at your tb ,just sayin:cool:

No I was not told about it being an 84-5 set up. I'll see if I have any 84-5's around still. Never was a big seller. Just shoot me an e-mail mail them back & I'll refund or give you a credit on file.
TurboBooster e-mail me as well Bweavy@aol.com Put 84-5 TB shaft seal in the subject.

hello; I guess the seal is differant on TB of differant years? I know nothing of your year but if the seal looks close to what you have I'd see what happens. I believe the seal is just a press in deal. Getting one out could get ugly but I'm no pro. Just as shown on Steve Monroes site putting one in it has to be square to the body. Give it a shot and then if you F it up send it to a pro to get it done. Another thing if you want to be a seal expert is to buy a fairly good used one and pre game the job.
have fun

I understand but still feel bad. There really isn't a new seal for the 84-5's . It was late yesterday & had been working like I am today 7 days a week. It's just March & we are busy.

TurboBooster what I am saying is I have a ton of old 84-5 throttle body's here & we have 4 new ported units in stock. I asked Steve if there really is a repair for the bronze bushing & this is what I got for a response:
84-5 was a pre-turbo and that just because there was a seepage there as long as the
car wasn't having drivability issues there was nothing to fix. Any other
hotair TB would likely be just the same. I would advise to get another
TB if the car ever did begin to die when he shifted into reverse.
(reverse gear = twice as much tranny line pressure = more engine load)

Thanks for coming on here Brian and clearing things up ... Looks like I will have to be sending them back To you no biggie I have done business with you for many years and have got nothing but the best customer service from you guys .... I also was told by Steve the same exact things he told u in response to the seals so I guess I'm just not going to worry about the throttle body as this point until I'm ready to upgrade it ....
