Okay I am a little new to cars period so forgive me for asking what I am about to ask. I am about to get my car running once I get my steering column in the mail. The car has been sitting for over two years now so naturally I assume some things might need to changed. Of course all fluids and belts will be replaced. My first question is about what i should do before I start her up. Do I need to place special attention anywhere? Also what fluids should I use to replace them all? I can change oil myself and replace the brake fluid but how do I replace the tranny fluid and differintial fluid? She is a 100k beater. Also i have heard about radiator swaps from a f-body what was the part number for those items from autozone and how easy is the swap and what does it require other than the fans and radiator? Jerryl I need to get in contact with you again. My old username was junction34 but that account went screwey. I have some questions about the ecm conversion, 3" maf stuff, translator, and a scant tool. I figured it might be easirt to talk to someone in person about those. Thank yall for all the help!

Just start with the "spring cleaning" as listed on www.gnttype.org
That should give you a good start. (no pun intended)

Just saw that. Call me when you are ready. Be glad to assist where I can.

sounds good thanks man...waitng for the steering column right now...what she really needs is a new coat of paint. that is a little out of the budget right now though!

tell them you need a radiator for a 1988 trans am GTA with a 5.7l V8 with trans cooler

that will bolt right in there?

it depends on if you have a narrow or wide rad right now... some 85's got larger radiators... some did not...

go measure

The F-body radiator is a Modine 951 and it drops right in. Whether you have the stock shroud or electric fan you will need to get ahold of an 80's Cutlass V8 radiator hold down plate. The plate is a direct bolt on and if you a using the stock shroud cut in down in order to hold down the drivers side of the radiator. Brad
