Timing chain gear (i cant belive my car still drove) Pics

He said 2 of the mains were damaged. Crank is getting turned, cylinders bored and valve job. It had to have been caused by the metal from the gear going through the motor and dropping into the pan.

WTF. Is someone trying to sell a timing gear with a missing tooth? Did I read that right?

I don't get it myself. $25 for a used 'gear' -1 tooth?

I bought an all metal stock replacement 'timing chain set' at my local parts store for about $30 and that's brand spankin new.
