Okay, in the process of scraping all of the old gaskets stuck to the block and front cover. I plan to reassemble everything this weekend and need some confirmation that I'm doing this correctly, absolutely don't want to do this again! lol

New parts for install:
- Rollmaster Gold Timing set
- Roller cam button (noticed diameter is smaller than stock one??)
- High flow water pump
- Fel-Pro gasket set

Questions:
- Tips on getting the front seal installed without damage - use Permatex? (I have smoothed out the stake marks from rope seal)
- When installing timing cover, do i use Permatex Ultra black on both sides of gasket?
- Gasket set came with oil pump gasket, is this a simple unbolt and replace job? (I have original front cover and pump - oil pressure was great)
- When installing water pump, any Permatex needed on either side of gasket?

These were my main questions to make sure everything is sealed up and leak free. Of course, any other tips you have would be appreciated. My first time doing this and btw, my stock cam gear looks great - will post some pics.

Thanks in advance!

If the cover is off, you should upgrade the oil pump passages and gears at the same time.

Plenty of advice on doing so available here.

It's apart, now is the time to upgrade.

I used sealer on my water pump, but can't tell you if it was needed.

Better safe, than doing the job again.
