I saw a TR with tinted headlights at Norwalk this year. I was wondering if anybody knows where to get them, costs involved, and if they are even worth wasting my time over. Thought they'd look cool on an all black car. ;)

Nobody knows of these headlights? Maybe I was just seeing things........

No you were not imagining it .they are disconntiued .they were made by phillips and were called color clear headlites they have a grid behind like a maf screen that makes them look black .Yes they are way cool IMHO.heres some pix of my car with them

Thanks for the reply, Bob! I guess I don't get to see that black car very often, it's always the brutally fast grey T (well, they're both brutally fast in my book). :D

I love that full pic of your GN. So, you got another set of them there discontinued lights for me? I GOTTA HAVE SOME!

Wait.........does discontinued mean illegal?????

Damn I love those headlights!! You get the blackout look without the headaches and fit problems of headlight covers. Are you sure they are discontinued and if so where might I get lucky and maybe find a set still left in stock?? :)

That's what I'm talkin' about!!! I got to find them!!

If ANYBODY out there has some of these I am interested in talking to you!

I got two sets 6 months ago from JCWhitney. And they are DOT legal, they even give you paper work to prove it for inspection.

Wow those things are really nice.

Let us know that JC Whitney part number. If they're not too much I'd like to get a set. They'd finish off my car well since the whole front is pretty much blacked out except the lights.

Looked at my spare set for the H4651 bulb the Philips # is 46677 22996 and for the H4656 is 46677 2300. And in reading the box they also come in red, black, white and blue. Checked JC whitney on line and could not find them. Also checked Philips Web site nothing. So they might be out of production now.

John

They were disconntiued back in 96 or so.Whittny bought up left over stock.when I bought mine I got 2 from whittney in 2000 and the brights from a salesman at phillips that had some under his desk.I was like you I had to have em.I saw a set on ebay about a year ago go for almost 200.00 for 4 .thats wild considering they ere about 12.00 a pc in whittney. try calling whittney or phillips and check out ebay and swap meets .IF their is a will theirs a way.My wife thought I was nuts cause I would not let it go till I had em

200 dollars a set? Glad I bought two sets when I got mine. Like you said, if you look hard enough you can find a set.

John

whoa!

I guess I'll have to draw the line somewhere if I find a set.

Thanks to JFH for the part numbers ;) and to BobbyBuick for the confidence to find them.

I'll be calling around today looking for my new headlights.

I just got off the phone with J.C. Whitney and they do not show any more in stock. The only way I could contact Phillips was through a consumer input page that relies on email. This may be harder than I thought.........

I found a few on ebay, but they are the wrong part number. :(

Philips doesn't even show that part numbers #46677 22996 or #46677 2300 even exist. I think I'm screwed for finding any of these laying around anywhere.

Somebody out there who has a set of 4 laying on their shelf needs to step up to the plate. :D
