I have the wiring harness, heater box, booster etc removed and am gonna try to make my engine compartment look a bit cleaner, so....... any suggestions?

Does anybody thingk it is a bad idea to rattlecan it with some Eastwood underhood black (kinda eggshell sheen I guess)? The car has 150k on it and the firewall looks, rad support, well everything looks like poop.
What to use for sealer where there was sealer from the factory (grounds, grommets etc).
And what to use for sealing heaterbox? Go back with foam? Use butyl tape strip seal?

If anyone has done this and has some good tips please chime in. This is quite a pain in the ass and I am NOT doing this again, so I want to do it right the first time.

I'm afraid I can't answer any of your questions, but I do have a question for you. How did you get your heater box out? I removed all the bolts and it is loose, but it can't get it out. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
-john

If all the bolts are out, the hardest part is out of the way. But you must get the dash out of the car. It is pretty self explanetory after that, but if you have any more q's feel free to ask. Don't break the blend door lever like I did.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't have the dash out of the car. Maybe this is where I'll stop.

Thanks,
-john

engine bay clean up

The question I have is the engine out or we trying spot work. Either way masking tape paper and aluminum foil wrap it tape it paper it then spay away but I would suggest catilized /urthane based primer ppg makes a dp line works like new

The whole deal. I did it and it looks fantastic. Removed about eveything from bay, masked fenders, wheel wells, painted the support. Can not tell it had been painted by seams or overspray. Used Eastwood Under Hood black and it coated beautifully and is the perfect sheen. Another great Eastwood product. The smoothest rattle can I have ever used.

I have always had good luck with Eastwood's products especially the underhood black paint.
