Tips on how to disassemble and rebuild shifter handle

Anyone have any tips on how to disassemble the shifter handle? I want to replace the worn handle and use all the trim pieces on the new one.

Trim pieces just slide in ends of handle.You can slowly pry them out of old handle and push them in new handle by hand.

GBody offers some aluminum internals for the stock shifter handles.
Why not replace with these & be done with it.
No more problems with those plastic internal parts breaking!
