tire weight/wheel shipping

I am shipping some wheels and need to get shipping estimates. Right now they have tires mounted and weigh approx 45 lbs each. How much do you guesstimate the tires themselves to weigh? BTW 16" rims with 245/50's

Also, anyone know of any other carriers besides UPS or FedEx that may be cheaper especially cross country?

I would say the wheels weigh between 18 - 23lbs and if the wheel/tire weighs 45lbs, the tires weigh 22 to 27 lbs.
