im looking to get a decent handling car. im driving a 1978 Buick Regal with a 5.7. i plan on lowering the car 1 inch with the eibach springs

i plan on going for 17 inch rims. How wide could i go in the back and how wide should i go in the front?

Someone told me i could fit 275/40/17's in the back but will it rub or?

I run 275/40R17's on a 17 x 10 on my '87. I did need to roll the fender lips. I don't know if a '78 is much different. Lots of good info in the "wheel and tire picture thread" sticky at the top of the forum.:biggrin:

I have 275/40/17 on mine with 17x9 inch rims. Lots of clearance with no rubbing anywhere.
