To resurface or not resurface “TH”DP at the Flange and puck?

I bought a good looking very used 3 in TH type DP.
I will only be using a section of it (from the turbo to about 8 inches back)
I was thinking (first mistake) that before I have the rest of the pipe refabbed to fit my car if it would be a good idea to have a machine shop resurface the flange and puck to make sure that they will make proper contact onto the turbo, I will also check to see if the puck aligns properly onto the waste gate hole.
What do you guys think?

Usually the ex housing needs the resurfacing. The dp and puck are usually ok

I guess I could put a straight edge on the housing and check it out.
Also the housing might have already been done since it was recently machined to fit the turbo; I will call the turbo shop and find out.
