To tint or not to tint

I'm debating on getting tint for my 86' grand national and was wondering if anyone's had any problems with police? You know, black car with black windows might attract the wrong attention. just wondering what some opinions are.

As long as you stay within the tint percent code for your state, you will be fine. Personally, I like the added benefits of good professional grade installed tint.

Try driving the car around at nite with sunglasses on and see how you like looking thru your side and back windows. That might help in making your decision.:biggrin:

I haven't been able to see good since I was a young fart!

Tint the windows, and if you dont want anyone to see you tint the windshield also , it will be like a cave inside your car.

I took mine off, car looked great with it but driving it at night was a pain, especially backing up. I did get pulled over at night just for the tint, that was the final straw. Granted mine were really dark (5% on the GN), but I've had cars with 20% on them and it wasn't much better at night.

I removed my tint also. Probably too old as well! I like mine off because it seems the majority of the GN's out there are tinted... I don't want to look like all the rest. But, if I drove it daily, or lived in south Florida, well, tint might be looking pretty good!

I always do legal tint on all my cars. I can't see for nothing, and have no problems with the tint at night. You'd melt down here without tint.

Indeed. 5% all the way around and 35% down the entire windshield. I wanted the glass to match the paint.

And yes, I get stopped all the time for it. LOL!
