What are the benifits of putting a trans break in will it mess my trans up how fast will my stock rear end last? What are the pros and cons of having a trans break on a street car?? Thanks for the feed back

trans brake

Are you talking about putting that in a 200 trans? Everyone will tell you to upgrade your rearend, suspension system and tune. I think a trans brake was one of the last thing that I considered when I built my car. I got it running real fast holding only 5-7lbs on the foot brake. To answer your questions I don't have any cons to running it on the street but if you are thinking of setting it at a redlight, for a little light -to - light action, forget it you will most likely blow the tires off. There are a couple of different brakes for the 200. The great tranny builders on this site will set you straight with the options.

A transbrake is a very useful tool for finding the weak links in your suspension. If it ain't right, it'll break.....maybe they should call it a transbreak instead !!!

BTW, what's your car run?

Don't have a time on a 1/4 mile yet but I ran an 11.3 at 100mph on the 1000' track we have around here that was with a s..ty launch I put a new converter in and my launches where 1 million times better just never got to the track I was guessing I would run 10.5 at 105-110mph in the same 1000' my launchs where that s..ty

I had a similar combo to yours.Te 60,stall etc.I had bone stock 180,xxx mile suspension and was able to cut low 1.5 60ft.I will evetually go with a transbrake myself. But just wanted to let you know with the right tune, practice, and luck you can get it done off the foot brake.I think my best pass was 11.03 @ 122.xx 60 was 1.52 on a 28x9 mt slick..................

tune time

I would take it to the track again and get some seat time and notebook, run it several times. Vary your launch technique ( deep vs shallow stage), reaction times, have a buddy record your launches in front of and behind your car and compare your reaction ( while you're are watching the video of when you should have took off). This is sorta off subject but since you put in a new torque converter see what it does, real data , not just "putting you back in your seat". Work on the tune first, you have great parts in your combo, trans brake ..... in your near future.

Thanks for all the input I think I am going to hold off and get my tune down maybe a brake in the future until then tune tune tune :) thanks
