I am leaving in about a half hour to trade my SS for a 1987 Grand National. I have a 200+ mile journey that crosses a heavily policed border (due to fireworks smugglers) into Wisconsin.

Wish me luck on not getting killed by a drunk or getting a big ticket. I will be sure to post up some pictures later when I get it. :D

Once your into Wis,you should be safe from all the Drunk Drivers,,but be careful when back in MN..

Congrats

Thanks, I am back home and my GN is sitting there waiting for the idle to be upped (it idles low) It runs like a dream and I almost ran it into a few walls on the way home since I am not used to the handling anymore.

The body was what I expected except for a small patch of surface rust starting in the passenger door jamb. All that will be fixed in the next year or so. Right now I am going to tweak it a bit so that its running smooth and drive it for the summer.

BTW, I started a thread on LS2.com about the same subject. Seems I have started a little war over there as some members think the GN is hidious. :o

I basically told the naysayers to F off as I didnt care what they thought. On my trip back home I had three people honk and thumb up me and one guy stop me at the gas station to ask some questions before telling me how beautiful of a car I had.

Other people liking my car doesnt matter, me liking it is all that counts. On the other hand, the trip out in my SS the only person to give me any positive feedback was the guy I traded it to. I got along side a 1971 GTO and gave the guy the "nice car" nod to which he looked at my SS and just turned away.

My GN needs some work (mainly a new paint job) but it still beads water and shines up nicely, it rained, in fact its still raining so I cant buff out the clear coat crap yet but its a definate 3 footer and the interior is flawless.

There are some other people in the thread saying they like the GN and would get rid of an LT1 SS for it. Which I did. there is also a moderator that just posted in the thread that owns a Monte SS that gave the haters a good lickin'

Oh and also, I know its a Camaro/Firebird/Corvette/GTO board but hey, I have been a memeber there since it started and am now probably the seventh member to have a Grand National on that board.

I knew I would get a much warmer reception here. This is now where I belong............again. :D

hey brother, i had a 00 ram air, and it was a excellent car but i would take my GN any day over it

I just noticed I ended every post in this thread with a smiley. Anyone think I am not excited about getting this car?
