I have dropped two governor springs in the past, I know what that condition drives like
So, last night I dropped the governor and the spring is in place on the governor and the check balls are moving correctly and all seems ok with the governor. The cars shifts just barely better than when I broke the springs before. At 70 mph it feels like it locks the converter in 3rd gear. I haven't plugged in TurboLink 4 to check for a TCC green light, as I thought I knew what the problem was and didn't do any testing once I got it home.
I searched for related topics and only found this:
"if it's not the gov spring like Red said... check the tv exhaust lifter rod in the tv bracket linkage"
What could be causing the problem? This tranny has good stuff in it and worked perfectly before this last run to high rpm in 3rd gear. The tranny only has about 11000 miles on it.
