We all do things we love, and *have to* do things we hate with these Turbo Regals.

For those of you who get your hands dirty or Turbo Regals; What is it you love working on and what are the things you hate doing?

"It's a thin line between love and hate"
The Persuaders

I love taking the engine in and out,out meens better parts and more power. Hate going under that dash and almost getting hung by all the wiring hanging everywhere. Also love driving fast.

Hate cleaning and routine maintenance, anything that may spill oil or gas.
Love figuring how to make something work.

I'm also not a big fan of working under the dash. I don't bend that way anymore and I feel it for a day or two. Also not a fan of replacing the power antenna.

I love everything else.

I love putting a motor back together and putting all new cleaned up parts back on. When I can say it's so clean you can eat off of it!!

I love spending less than $100. I hate spending more than $100. The former happens less frequently than the latter.

I always loved working with, messing with, even under the dash. However I no longer have the physical skills to do anything to the car except look at it. So now I take the car to Richard Clarks shop when I feel the need to burn thru more cash. Which is quite often. I just bought another 109 std. block from turbodave231. Going to have a Richard and Clint build a engine from scratch

I hate dealing with weak power windows and air leaks. I love making a roadtrip that does not end in something that I want to fix.

Ditto for me as well.
I also hate trying to fix something outside of my knowledge base, and it seems that TB's are *way*'outside of that.
My bike, my BB chevelle ( that I had as a kid ) were basic and easy to work on so they are / were pure enjoyment to work on.
I also * hate * rattles, squeaks and wind noise and oil leaks. Hence, all the chassis bracing available installed, as well as new body bushings. ( I know, I know, so why in the h&ll did I buy a GN ? I guess because they're just badass !)
I already am stockpiling parts to "upgrade" the car for next year..... New VC gaskets. Girdled diff cover and new rear control arms, new cast aluminum deep tranny pan. And I almost forgot.. spoolfool's bumper fillers .... FUN things to add. But I'm gonna keep the old stock stuff , but in a box on the shelf.
I also agree with not liking to get under the dash. Very difficult for me too.

Seams I'm not alone with my hatred of life under the dash of my TR. My body makes me pay dearly every time I spend some quality time under the wired maze.

Interesting topic I got a lot of experience just not centered on one turbo regal but over 300 plus.

Perhaps the major turn off or project I hated the most was getting a Turbo Regal that the owner(s) had installed an alarm in. When one alarm failed owner simply installed another one. It is a very painstaking time consuming job to carefully remove all the cut wires from various harnesses.. After you remove each individual wire you got to restart the car to make sure it still runs.

The fun project at least from my point of view was seeing the car I bought for the first time and seeing that it is better than described.....that is a real joy.
Course this joy was balanced out on ones that did not measure up and there I was with a check from the dealership and day or so on the road getting to the car.

I enjoy detailing most of all....its the feeling of accomplishment I guess. I lack the mechanical skills that others enjoy doing. I can recognize the exterior engine parts but replacing them is not something I can do.

I leave that to the experts...

What is frustrating or something I hate and I am sure others do is having an issue with your car and not being able to pinpoint the correct area that needs to be fixed.....our Turbo Buicks provide plenty of those issues.

Good thing the values are high on our cars....makes the fun factor worth it.

I hate exhaust work.... nothing ever seems to line up the way I think it should. I can spend hours on the stupidest things and then as soon as I give up some magic happens and it all comes together.
I love troubleshooting electrical systems. Seriously.

I hate to do some FAST programming because (especially at the track) I don't have enough skills and knowledge to do that. I have to reply on either Jack or Martin to do it for me…

Claude. :(

Well, look at it this way. At least you have a Jack and a Martin. Some dont and are really lost.
Yeah I know and I appreciate their help…but it would be nice if I could do it on my own…

Claude.

P.S: I was referring to my good friend Martin Riendeau and Jack "the man" Cotton. (y) Thanks guys...
