My dad has a 200-4R tranny out of a caprice that he had rebuilt with good parts. Installed his original 85 GN governor in this tranny. Tranny shifts great and works well, and shifts perfectly at full throttle (shift points). The problem is at part throttle, it shifts into 2nd gear way too quick. Anything that can be done to help this any? We've tried adjusting the TV cable, but it doesn't help much. TIA

Well...
I would have to think about this for a bit. First I would get another govenor with the same secondary weight and lighter primary weight. If you knew the numbers on the weight I could help you. I would start with another govenor and leave yours alone as a control. We can do this it will just take some time and maybe droip the pan a couple of times. Man I HATE the fact the gov is in the pan on these.
