I am having tranny problems and am really REALLY getting sick of thinking about a 200r4 rebuild and finding a builder close to Va, so far no luck and out of state, well the car is a daily driver for NOW, drives ok but has a BAD sliipage problem when i get into it. Now i am trying to figure out if i should ditch the 200R4 and go to something which will NOT break as easily and is reasonably priced if it does, the 400 seems a good alternative. From what i have read rebuilding a 200r4 by anyone besides the people on here is like playing russian roulette, something i am not feeling like playing. THe 400 seems alot easier to get rebuilt and is reasonalbly priced, i know it has no overdrive but having a tranny that i do NOT have to worry about BREAKING is well worth not having OD to me. Price of a rebuild in the future is cheap also....SOOOO what would have to be done, i have read i would have to replace the driveshaft, ok so where would i get the proper one and who to buy it off of, i have searched and found NO definitive answers on that. One person said you would need to change the crossmember, another said you do not. I would like to know people who have dealt with the 400 and not someone who just has hearsay knowledge, any help is GREATLY appreciated and i have noticed not too many replies on this and have done searches on every board and would like DETAILED info at all possible, THANKS!!!!!
