I recently replaced my raidator and found that i had a tranny cooler behind my fmic. now i also have the cooler lines run through my radiator. now is this nessary? my coolant runs 185 at all times with a alluminum rad and dual fans.
if i don't run the tranny lines through the rad and just through the tranny cooler will that lower my coolant temps enough or should i just leave well enough alone?

 i re read my question and i think its better if i just ask.

Is it better to have a cooler transmission or Lower coolant temp?

Does the tranny get hot enough to influence the Radaitor efectiveness?

Any opinions aprecated:biggrin:

i would leave the cooler hooked up the way it is. you might want to move it to infront of the frontmount but leave it plumed into the radiator unless you have a big trans cooler with external fan mounted on it. thats just my .02

Ever since I got my tranny rebuilt back in 2003, I've run a small B&M tranny cooler up front with a fan on it (mounted under the radiator support in between the two side air dams)...IMO you should always have the tranny have it's own cooling system...don't feed fluid through a hot radiator...good for a factory setup maybe but that's it...
