Tranny fluid?

What is recommended for the 200r4 for tranny fluid.Some friends that work at GM dealerships say the new dexron 6 is very good for new automatics.I believe it is a synthetic blend

DO NOT USE DEXRON VI.

Use Dexron III.

I buy the cheapest Dexron III I can buy. I spend money on motor oil and gear oil, but tranny fluid is all the same. I would NEVER run synthetic fluid in anything but a manual transmission or an Allison. (Unless of course the manufacturer stated differently like new GM vehicles)

I have always asked the builder of the transmission what they suggest to use and go on that. I consider the trans builder to be the SME.

Please state your source or personal experience to verify that statement?

Based upon a VERY experienced local trans builder and many other builders I had had personal contact with around the country ALL recommend Dex VI?

We have used it since it came out in many 200r4's as well as TH 400 race transmissions with excellent results.

Instead of changing fluid once or twice a race season, it still looks new at the end of the season.

Using DEX VI in many transmissions both street and race, there NEVER has been any issues due to fluid, only positive results.

Both of my tranny builders told me to stay clear. 200r4s and my 4l80e.

Never had an issue with dex 3. I always change my tranny fluid when I change my oil. Simple, cheap, and effective.

If you've had good luck, I'm not disputing it!
