i just had a question

i bought an LS1 stlye radiator and the RC dual fans a few months back i put everythign in witha little fabricating i bought a tranny cooler and routed the tranny lines to it but i used the tranny cooler on the new radiator for the oil cooler considering it is in the same place as the original oil cooler jus a different size fitting

no one sees a problem with this do they?

i havent had any problems with it and my oil pressure never changed any after doing this

Very interesting....

From everything I have heard and/or read, everyone says don't run your oil cooler through the tranny cooler on the radiator. I believe this is mainly because the tranny cooler has smaller orifices and is not capable of flowing as much volume of oil as the original oil cooler.

I'm not saying don't do it, but I wouldn't trust my engine oil running through the tranny cooler in the radiator. I would be paranoid of starving the engine for oil and wiping some bearings and/or destroying the engine.

Just my .02

I thought about doing the same thing and everyone advised against it. Couldn't find anyone who did it either.

well its been like that since november of 03 and i havent had a problem its been rode hard a few times also and i talked to a friend that is a lot more in tune on these cars than i am and he said he has been using just a regular aftermarket tranny cooler for his oil since he changed the radiator out i didnt ever see an increase in oil pressure either from doing this so im not really sure and i run some thick oil car runs smooth no problems no noises im still thinking of adding an oil cooler though
