Guys -

I'm posting thi here hoping to get some more responses - tranny forum doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic.

If I do a Performance trans converter (2800 rpm), is one of Bruce's pumps absolutely required or is it just extra insurance? Last time I went down this road, some recommended the pump while others did not. My mod money is a little tight right now, and some of Bruce's prices have gone up, so I'm trying to stretch my dollar.

Is the pump needed or will the stocker do?

It's a garage queen of a car - sees some light cruising and occasional stop light racing.

TIA
Rich

If your trans is shifting OK, you can assume your pressures are good and the pump is healthy. It would be a good idea to install a shift kit, hardened stator support shaft, and new pump seal in your pump while you have the trans out. Niether is very hard, but not a job for a novice .

Thanks for the info Dave.

Yeah, I had already planned on the shift kit, but I'll also take a look at the other things you mentioned.
