I just placed an order for a new transmisson. I did a lot of checking into the different companies that sell them both large and small. Looked for a good 4 to five weeks. Many companies were marked off the list simply because I could not find a history and some because they had customer service issues. The companies that were left I looked at what they had to offer for the power range my car is in. Then I set up a spread sheet and listed all the items that make up their transmission and the price includeing the core charge for the transmission. More were removed. Then I started calling and asking questions. What I found was that they are not all the same. Each vender has their own way of putting together a transmission. Does that make one better that another??? NO. This is where I had to ask myself some questions and be honest with the way I answered them. Your satisfaction will be determined by your expectations. One of my expectations is a long service life, nearly stock ride when driving normal around town and increased strength. Not all weighted the same.

I first talked with Chris at CK. Pleasent and he answered all my questions completly.

Nexted I talked with PTS. They also answered all my questions.

I called each of the above companies back once more this past week and each answered more questions.

By chance I called Cottens and he somehow he pegged me for an Engineer before my first question was out. Busted!! Jack is a great person and on his recommendation I seriously Looked at Dynotech.

All boiled down is which transmisson best suited my driving habits and my goals.

My choice was CK's stage Two because I felt that it would work best and last the longest in my application(most milage between overhauls). I also liked that he operates each transmission before it is shipped at no extra charge.

PTS builds a great tranny for sure! And if my driving habits differed they probably would have been my choice.

Doing this research I did notice that talking about tranmisions is almost like talking about RELIGON AND POLITICS.

Chris,,,,Mark,,,,Jack,,
Thanks very much for your time.

P.S I am writting this because as a vender you might be interested in what happened with the person that had all those questions.
