How do you guys support the trans when you have the engine out?
I normally just run some mechanics wire from the top driver bell housing by hole to the ground bolt on the firewall.
This has worked many times without a problem.
However this GN has a stripped tranny mount bolt and j would like to repair it....
Looking for a secure way to hold the front of the tranny while I repair the tranny mount bolt.

Small ratchet strap, dowel pin hole to dowel pin hole with the hooks and run the strap over the center hood support

I like it. Thanks.
Just to be clear loop it around the hood support with the rubber bumper on top?

I ran one across the bottom and attached it to the frame and looped one around that piece in your pic

I made a support from 1" box tubing with adjustable jack bolt in the center for different trans heightsDSCN0150.JPG DSCN0152.JPG

using anytime of bailing wire remove the cowl seal or youll have a nice little reminder everytime you open the hood.

I just use a 1 inch wood Dowell laying across the frame rails and 2 long bolts in the transmission bellhousing.
