Tranny Whining

My tranny is shifting crisply, and the down shift under boost throws me back in my seat. The problem is my transmission whines, almost sounds like a cat growling? Any suggestions....

need more info does it whine in park or in gear??Does the whine increase with the rpms?

no whining in neutrel or park, and yes it becomes more pronounced with RPM's

if you pull the tv cable out by hand does it get worst?

I messed with the TV cable this morning, does not change...

Was the trans just rebuilt?

not to my knowledge, I called the guy who I bought the car from and he said he replaced the pump recently...

I have a car with the exact same issue, whines in gear but nothing in park and neutral. In my case it's the torque converter. Probably has a bad thrust bearing.

It's annoying, but if it is not going to hurt the tranny I'll deal with it. I just bought the car, so I'm not in the market for an upgraded tranny just yet I wish it would have done this when I test drove the car, I would have tried to get it cheaper, but it doesn't seem to do it loudly until the tranny get good and hot....
