Ok I broke the tranny at the track. Was going fine then just broke. Have NO gears at all. Only Park works. Got the tranny out, is there anything I should look for. There is no metal in the pan.

The splines all look ok including inside converter. The shaft sticking out of the front turns and feels like it's connected to something inside, but does turn by hand. The bigger shaft doesn't turn by hand.

The shaft out of the rear moves around quite a bit. Up, down, side to side.

TIA

Really think the converter may be toast? Is there a way to have it checked. I just put it in two days before the tranny went.

Drove it to the track and on the 5th pass it went boom!

It's a billet 9x11.

Thanks again

I would bet it is not converter

Either input shaft, od planet, od ring gear, forward drum shaft, or pump rotor. Do you have any line pressure?

That is question #1. And the most important too.

Let us know.

Ok, It has line pressure. Gonna take it to a friend tomorrow that built a couple of friends GN trannies. He said he wouldn't charge me to take it down to see what was wrong. I told him I would probably just buy one from one of the vendors here.

The car is "hopefully" a low 11 second car at present and will be in the 10.80 range when I go thru the engine. Which tranny would you recommend for this vehicle? Also, I'm a LONG way from any reputable builder. If I buy the parts from Bruce and let the guy here do it, what do I need to buy?

THanks

I would recommend a lot of billet since you are going into the 10's Street. Give us a call and we can go over everything. thanks, Mark (916)739-0510
