Trans Cooler as an engine oil cooler?

I know that flow will be reduced since it isnt the 1/2 inch tubing, but how bad of an idea is it to use a trans cooler as an engine oil cooler?

Aftermarket oil coolers have 5/8" lines. I use a Permacool external oil cooler with an F-body radiator. Perhaps smaller lines will cause a restriction in oil supply. The downside could cost you your engine.

Red is right,use an engine oil cooler it is cheap in comparison.

cool, that's all I needed to know! I was installing my F-body rad today and went over to autozone and all they had were transcoolers...but I wont settle for that then

oh yeah...what size fittings are the stock hose ends? Or, will I have to replace the lines anyway to get them to reach far enough to get it infront of the radiator?
