Now that the season's over I'm starting to tend to the little details on my car-shit that's worked over the season but wasn't really up to my satisfaction level.
Trans cooler hard to soft line joint. There's a few small threaded connectors hanging off of the hard lines, and my installer put the soft hoses right over them and band clamped them. They leak. Can I just pull back the fittings (I'm not too keen on cutting the flare off to yank the fittings, reducing my options for the future) and stick the hard lines straight into the hose and clamp them down? Will the flared end act like a little shelf inside and restrict something that shouldn't be restricted? Let me know.

providing the trans cooler hose is the right size... push the tube nut back and sliding the hose over the double flare end and clamp has worked for me , the flare keeps the line from just sliding off the tubing and its not a restriction unlike most adapters which are restrictive .

how about a pic of these fitting you have

Yep. It'll look a little funny with the nuts there, but you can the trans line over the flare and use it just like a bead.

I can't imagine how bad your trans lines leak with that fitting stuck in there.

These don't leak that bad at all. I did find a few drops from the "line 1" pic on the rad support. I tightened it up but was wonderin if I could just move the nuts back and put the hose right on the flared hard line. If I can, that will make install super easy. I'll just buy another trans cooler if that's the case. It's an old model, an old design, and a lot of miles on it. I'm going to do a Hughes deep pan with a 700 filter and some B&M trick shift fluid, so I'll be draining this anyhow. And since I'm doing all this shit, I mind as well just do an oil cooler while I'm at it.

They're kinda stuck in the hose too. It's weird. It's like it's half and half. I'll fix it though. It'll be squared away after I'm done with it.
