Need some help with install of additional trans cooler. Do I want the fluid to go through the radiator cooler first? Which is the return line from the radiator cooler? Top one?
How do I splice in for the add on cooler?

Thanks
John

The top fitting out of the radiator is the rerturn line.
The way I did it was, removed the top line and installed a barbed fitting into the radiator. I then ran rubber trans hose to the aux. cooler, then ran the return from the aux. cooler back to the orginal return line and slid the hose over the the flare and after covering all the rubber hose in stainless braid and clamped them good amd tight.A few I have seen didn't use the factory cooler at all,but my line of thinking was if the factory cooler lowered the temps only 10 degrees it would make the aux.cooler just that much more effective.

Recently I purchased an '87 GN. I just realized yesterday that the guy who set up the trans cooler skipped the trip into the radiator entirely. IOW, the trans is only getting cooled by the aftermarket trans cooler. But I guess if the typical set up is to run the hot fluid first into the radiator, then out to the trans cooler, then it's goal is to cool it as much as possible, not cool it to 160 degrees. I won't be racing this one (my '86...yes), so I'm not that concerned about tons of cooling.

I'm okay, hey?
