I am about to replace my tranny filter and have found out from these threads that I should use the 700R4 transmission filter.
My question is, when I go into a autoparts store do I just pick any year and model car that came with a 700R4 trans?
For example, I know the IROC camaros came with a 700R4.

And are there any thing else I should look out for when changing the fluid??
I am already planning on installing a drain plug, will it get in the way of that?

700R4 filter is of the "bottom feeder" type... and is less prone to suck air  during hard acceleration.... or higher RPM's.

I do not use the 700 filters. I use the stock 2004R filter, and a baffle in my builds. Also, overfill them by 1/2 to 1 qt.

We put our drainplugs on the drivers side front of the pan so they are not hanging under the pan. I hate that!
