can anyone recommend a good trans guy around chicago (trans is a 200r4) and car makes about 550-600 HP.

thanks.

Jimmy's in Mundelien. Make sure to get the billet drum version.

Performance Transmission

Its not to far away. Clinton Il. built my race trans 350 turbo and my 200r4 in my driver. The driver had been rebuilt by 3 other builders and would not stay together? Bob@ 217-935-5352. Good luck.

Jimmys

Go to Jimmys in Mundelein. Awesome work. Really fast too.

I just talked to Jimmy the other day about upgrading my trans. It was built about a year ago and Ive run low-11's with no problems whatsoever. It was his stage 2 trans. Now that Im running this fast I need to upgrade the parts to keep it from breaking. He told me about 800.00 to remove it and rebuild it again!! Can't go wrong with him. If you ever have a problem with it just take it back and he will make it right with you.

Its obvious by the response and support for Jimmy that he builds a great Trans, but what is missing in the recommendations is the way he stands behind his product. He clearly has the best warranty in the business, and his customer service is second to none. Just call him and get the details, then call all the other suggested places and U will see what I mean.

Hey Gary
Where we gonna find some races this weekend?

Can I come watch?:D

Jimmy did a trans for a friends T type in like 1995. In 2005...still had firm shifts. That means he has know his stuff for quite a while!!!

Jimmy has been the main guy here in IL for a long time, he knows what to do and has great service and turn around time.

I will be back there in Sept to start on the billet parts program and trans brake.

Can someone refresh my memory? I had a th-400 built about 7 years ago from a shop up that way. I think the name was Lake County Transmission? I remember the owner had a GN on the lift, all kinds of GN posters on the walls. I want to say his name was Jimmy but I'm not sure. Is this the same place you guys are talking about?

If so, does anyone still know if "Tommy" still works there?

Thanks!
