Engine builder/installer left it off -- what harm or problem is this going to cause?

I will be doing my on removal and install if the engine ever has to come out again.

Thanks for your response. Jerry in Fruita, CO where there seems to be no one else very close to compare trouble shooting with.

i would really want to get that in place------------it is actually the primary ground path for the alternator/engine/body connection---------the secondary one is the small black wire between the pass fender and the batt neg post----------it doesn't have to be connected to the transmission mounting bolts--------attach it to the firewall where it normally goes and put the other end on one of the intake manifold bolts---------the EGR manifold bolt/stud is an ideal place.........RC

Some nice engine noise through the stereo,Alternator whine, misfire, low voltage hard/bad starts. It causes problems. You should put a new one on since they get old and corrode. My GN had a bad ground strap,it made the car run horrible

Doing It now. Will post when its done. May I reply to you on a another subject when I get my Metco remote fuel pressure gauge and line?

Thanks for your help! Jerry

Started taking it apart and connecting it properly this evening late and broke the 23 year old ring under the last head bolt -- should have listened to you and put it on the egr stud. My I ask about another subject when I get my Metco remote fuel gauge and line. I already had response on this second subject from VMineo and because I am new at posting and response I replied to him when I meant to reply to both of you -- not my intention to offend anyone the the board. I find it incredibly helpful being kindof stranded here on the western slope of Colorado and not being able to hookup with any other local GN owners so far. Thanks again for both responses. Jerry
