What are the basic transbrake mods you have to do to the transmission in order to keep a healthy trans. billet input shaft & what else. I think the transbrake is around $130. but what else is on the agenda, say for 10-15lb launches on 28X9 slicks, in a low 11.00 sec car? And are their anything specific?

With that Edge 9.5 converter, really nothing. There are plenty rolling around on "stock parts".
If you have a good healthy trans already, you "should" be OK. That being said, non billet parts can fail at any time. So, if you are diving in... A billet drum and input are good insurance.

Thanks guys!! Does this work by pressing the brake then shifting the shifter in Neutral at the stage lights then release the brake then build boost to whatever level then bumping it in d3 to take off or is there some type of switch mechanism to operate it? I already have a heated treated hardened input shaft but not billet.

The brake works by placing the trans in 1st (not neutral). Then you build boost to the desired level, and bump the shifter to third for the launch.

Unless you are freshening the trans, I would run it as is.

I got the trans from Dynotec in Oct of 2005 which makes it roughly 2yrs old.
the regular HI-PRO trans that eric sells. Maybe about 40 track passes in a low 12 sec. car.
My engine is being rebuilt, (a little more Power) I havent even changed the tranny fluid in it yet. Eric told me no need just to keep it checked & watch the color. When its starting to get dark THEN change it. well its turning brown/reddish color when i droped the trans to take the motor out. As its sitting on the ground i was thinking of having my certified mechanic throw a trans brake in & change the fluid:smile:
So your saying throw it (tb) in as is Brian? Im not gonna use the brake THAT much but i will use it definately at the track. THanks again.
