I am looking to put a Translator on my car. Does any body run a Gen 2? Is there alot of difference between them. If I get the Gen 2 I would also get the Inovate LC1 Wideband.

SignUp Now!Yes there is a MASSIVE difference between them. There is no comparison. The original translator and trans + are pretty rudimentary devices that only allow you to add an LS1/LT1 maf and give you very minimal tuning options.
The Gen 2 on the other hand is essentially a piggy back engine management system rivaling systems that cost thousands more. To make use of its features you'll need the wideband, and an extender extreme G chip. With this combination you'll have a powerful set of tuning tools that can grow substantially to meet your needs. No I'm not paid by the translator people, I just happen to own a Gen2 and I think its awesome. I have it controlling my WOT afrs perfectly, timing all the way up the rpm band, I can tune on the fly, I even have a completely automated nitrous system that is controlled by the Gen 2 to spool my turbo.
The one caveat to all this is that if you add up the cost of the chip, the gen 2, and the wideband, you may find that its worth it to you to spend a few extra hundred dollars one one of the lower end aftermarket engine management systems. I haven't sat down and done the math but off hand I would figure for 500 bux more you could get yourself into an older FAST system or something of that nature. This is pure speculation though, do your own research.
sorry dont meen to steel your thread : if any one has a tranlator a translator + fof sale please let me need one bad .the translator i have is so old t/t cant make a chip for
I dont know how you can say the Gen2 didn't work well. Its configurable for nearly any type of setup. If it didnt work well its because you werent adept at tuning it. The options are almost limitless.
I can say the Gen2 didn't work well on my car because it didn't. I did not say the Gen2 is a bad product. It's a great product. I had problems with my G chip 2 different times and my Gen2 would not work with the TT chip I had either. I even sent my chip back to Eric and he tried in his own car with his Gen2 and it worked fine. So yes, it didn't work well. I'm not a tuning guru but I do know how to tune my combo. My car works better with the T+ and TT chip. Thanks for your wrong opinion of my car.
