Translator wont plug in????

Just got a translator for the GN, and the plug thats supposed to go into the factory harness doesnt go? the factory harness looks like its too big to go into the plug. anyone else ever have this problem? seems to be the right translator as it has settings for the buick v6 on it.......any ideas? do i have to alter the harness?

it should come with an adapter. i have a thread in this forum about it from a month or so ago.
