Transmission problem

I just bought my first 87 GN. When i bought the car the transmission was bad so i had it rebuilt. Its back in the car and now once you drive a few miles it seems like it shifts to second then slips and when it goes to 3rd it makes a clunk noise. Also it doesnt go into over drive till 55mph. Does this sound like the trans isnt rebuilt right or tv cable not adjusted properly. any info would help greatly. thanks

Doesn't sound good. :frown: Check the TV cable adjustment anyway. This shouldn't cause a clunk on the 2-3 shift tho'.

As far as i know it was my original trans. I never marked it cause the guy I had rebuild it came highly recommended.

you try taking it back to the rebuilder and have him drive the car and if hes an honest joe he should fix it .. What did you spend

I'm going to take it back to him on Monday. I brought him just the trans and he charged me 900 to rebuild it. It works fine till the trans warms up then the problems start. Also I think that it should go into od at around 45 not 55 cause the car is tacking 3k at 50 mph

not right .but my od shifts at 50 .set by eric at turbo tweek.and my rpms are much lower unless im the cause.. Hopefully your builder will stand up for his work . I know lots of tranny shops wont even touch them anymore .they want to switch it to a 700 r4.good luck but i wouldnt even drive it till he looks at it .. Just to be safe ..

You sure about that? Didn't know Eric could control shift points with the chip.
OD and TCC L/U are 2 different things.
