Transmission shifting

Does anyone know why there is no "performance shift" option on the 2002+ Regal GS? I thought the previous models had a button you could push to get a little crisper shift, but mine lacks that button.

That said, are there any mods out there to get a tighter shift? I am so used to my TR that the GS seems extremely slushy.

The performance shift was deleted for 2001 and later Pontiac GTP's and Regals. There is available a DHP pcm that puts the shift back but you will need to run wires from your pcm to a switch. If you go to www.clubgp.com and do a search, there is very descriptive instructions on how to do this.
You can't just wire the performance shift without a modified pcm. Another option is to purchase a shift lever from GM prior to 2001 and it will have the button on it.

A shift kit should give you what your looking for. INTENSE has a new one that's supposed to be easier on the tranny than other kits.
