while changing my stock header my cousin, who is my mechanic, noticed some of my tranny bolts were loose and asked me if i wanted him to tighten them, i told him yeah. while tightening the bolts he said there was another bolt off to the side on a bracket that was very loose so he tightened it. well after installing the new header, i test drove my car and felt serious power loss. it was like my car would not let me build boost before it shifted. i was wondering was that bolt that was on the bracket loose for a reason and is that there to adjust my transmission. please if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

I cant think of a single bolt that needs to be loose and due to it being tightened would cause this.
"Bracket" be more specific??

There aren't any trans adjustments other than TV cable at carb. I'd check your plug wires for damage and correct location.

tranny

thats the only thing he touched. do u think it could have been when he took the ground wire off the alternator it reseted my computer and now it needs to be tuned again.

No offense but I domt think I would let him touch teh car again.
The ecm reset is simply unplugging the ecm feed wire by the pos term of the batt.
What Bracket are you talking about? Bracket or alt?

shifter

the bracket im talking about is a shifter linkage. do u think by him tightening that it made my car shift faster and not letting me build boost, but only in first, second and third it lets me use alky. let me know thanks.

conclusion
