Trasher 108+race gas vs trasher 92 with alky?

Hi all!

I have a question. Does anyone run on the track with alky and without the violett wire that reduces the alky under stage ? If so does your car bog ?

I have not the wire conected, and I am worried about that the car will go bad when I will hit the track for the first time with alky (probably if I can get some)

Can I expect better times than I runned last year ? I had a trasher 108 and race gas plus 20.5 psi on stock turbo.

This time I will run a trasher92 on pump gas and alky with a TA49 at maybe 22-25 psi. I have already tested it for 24 psi and 0.0 knocks. The thing is I have not tuned it in. It dont feel faster than it did with the trasher 108 but I dont know, maybe I have get
used to it ?

Well, last year I runned on a pair of BFG drag radials, but couldnt leave the line with any psi at all, it just spunn. Now I have new MT ET streets and hope on at least a 8-10 psi leave. But... will it bogg ?

8-10 wont be a problem.

You have a couple options,

You can get a simple pushbutton switch and apply ground to the violet wire while staging.. see if it makes a difference.

You can increase the turnon point to 10-12 PSI see if that makes a difference.

You can wire the violet wire to the e-brake as per the instruction. I would do this after I confirmed it makes a difference using the pushbutton switch.

Your 108 chip has more timing down low than does the 92 chip. The 92 chip will pull great on the top end of the track. There are better chips to make the car faster the first 330 of the track. Eric Marshall's chip, Bob Bailey's chip(translator/extender) add additional timing on the bottom end and improve the 330 foot.

For street driving I like the low turnon point becuase it assures alcohol in the motor when the boost comes up. At the track with a good set of tires, its not as critical.

24 PSI huh :).. you can probably go much higher :).. just take your time, watch the knock, keep your O2's reasonable.. it will fly :)

Lunkan is on his way :) The new turbo is soon comming and he wont take long until he bolt it on for sure lol.

So you mean I will have a slower 1/8 time with trasher 92 than 108 ?

Then as I said I have TA49, I dont know if its good to go higher than 24 psi with it even if I could ? I have seen someone run 25 with it, but I have heard of someone the sweet spot is around 23-25. I dont know, but I guess I have to test.

Unfortunately I dont think I will have many runs on saturday... There is probably around 100 crappy slow Volvos and Saabs that will run there, and many ricers... The most common times for Volvos here is around 13 secs times... not to impressive. The fastest ones drives low 12s or even high 11s but thats very rare.

Yes the lower the timing the slower the car is accellerating. Altho your running higher boost it may compensate a ittle, but not like a chip designed to do that. Hence why the variable timing chips have taken off so well. Play with what you have, take it from there. Enjoy the car :)

You can go higher than 24 on that turbo. If the car increases in MPH.. then your on the rite track no? :D

Hmm... I have a race gas can in my garage that I bought last year and didnt use...

Shall I use it or shall I use methanol ? Can I drive on more boost with the race gas on trasher 92 then with metanol ?

Well my plans was to drop in race gas, drive with the 108 chip, then test the 92 chip and run alky at higher boost...

Will you earn more boost on a 108 chip with alky + race gas compared to only race gas ?

But maybe I dont need the alky if I run race gas ? Tricky situation :)

And I will upgrade to a Marshall chip when I get some 50 injectors... Its all about money :) I have a orginal tranny to, it will not hold for long I guess :(
