I have a Shower tree in front of my house. It was put in about 4-5 years ago my the HOA. There are identical trees in front of every house on the block. It is aprox 20' tall. I think the height is fine. All the trees on the block are much fuller....way more branches and leaves. The tree has a band at the base an 2 bricks on each side. I assume this was to keep it stable when it was very young. When I moved in 3 years ago it still had sticks on each side and string to hold it in place. Is there anything I can do to help this tree along? I am jealous of the neighbors trees that provide a lot of shade.

hello; IMO since your in a part of the country I know nothing about I would find a good local arborist and pick his brain. In Mass. there are some who are college grads in that field and find someone who's got a passion for that stuff.

I have a black thumb. or. The reverse "Midas touch". Everything I touch turns to $#!t........

The good part of living in Hawaii is the sun is always shining. The bad part of living in Hawaii (for you cars paint) is the sun is always shinning. Would be awesome if I had a shade tree......would be like an extension of my garage. Thanks guys.

Cut it down then put up a big plastic one from Lowe's:D:biggrin: No watering, no feeding it, no everything turning to sh**. Problem solved.
