Hey Jerryl.

I was set to go that day, but then developed a little issue related to running my engine too hot all last summer (...my better judgement was clouded from all the relentless glee I was having out on the streets...), so I backed out the night before and went to Papa Lou to get the issue fixed and also upgraded to a nice set of ported OE heads, port mached intake and roller cam...:D

I'm planning on going to Fontana on May 1 to finally get some time slips...If I can get a good launch and 60, I'm looking for mid 11's with the boost set conservatively at 21-22 lbs.

Chicken,
I enjoy reading ALL your stories.
You have a way of writing down your experiences and I laugh every time I read them. Thanks for sharing! (I was just pulling your "Chicken chain" . . . ;))

Re: Lou C;
I have NEVER met Lou, but I tell you what; He must be one of the nicest, honest and knowledgeable guys I would trust with my car. Trust me, that says a lot to have anyone work on my junk. One HECK of a nice guy, from everything I read.:cool:

Re: TB
What else is there to say? Without it, we would not be as far as we have come.

As far as the other fella . . .
Not sure what I did or said to get him wound up.
I STILL think California is in the SW area of the USA, period! ;)

Hey Jerryl,
Glad to be a ray of sunshine in everyones life...it fulfills my needy nature to feel wanted.:D

Lou is definitely a good guy; defintley knows what's what when it comes to Turbo Buicks; and has nooooo trouble with lack of honesty;). He'll tell you exactly what's on his mind:D; he'll sell you only what you actually need; and he'll tell you exactly how to keep it running well so that he does not have to see you every week...
If you're in the market for a good reliable build, then go see Lou and tell him what your goals are, let him do his thing and then listen to and follow his advice. Guys send their cars to him from cross country routinely.

As you can tell...I'm a fan.

...as for having him work on your junk...
I would strongly recommend you not ask him to do that. He's never crossed me as the kinda guy who wants to work on other guys junk.
Figuratively or literally...
But if you have a sheep for him to herd for you...that'll make him real happy.
He likes Turbo Buicks too...

Don't worry about the other fella...he's an OK guy....just intimidated by Cowboy hats, animals with pointy ends (bulls)... and people with short hair.:D

Thank you for posting in the SouthWestern section.:D

Thanks I really appreciate that, This is the kind of references needed to be able to stick around & continue to work on TR's when they stop coming I'm officially retired but not till then. So if folks still want me around just keep all me busy. Meanwhile I will continue to support TB.com the best source for our hobby. I think Shane,Jay, Gary & all the rest that make this possible deserve thanks also. Regards Lou

Chicken, regarding Lou . . . .
There is a LOT to be said for someone who not only KNOWS these cars, but works on them for the love of them as well.
There is nothing more satisfying than a builder telling you the "parts you don't need" although he could make $$$ selling and installing them. It speaks VOLUMES!
Maybe someday I will get Lou to build me a car, so I can run with the chickens, and sleep with the sheep.

Lou,
We TRIED HARD to get you to relocate to TX. LOL!!
Maybe someday.

I have my standards & my helper Al or the sheep are not for sale but if you want to run with the chickens it's doable.

I say, bump it at least once a week.

Many years ago, the Gilligan's Island show ended. However, somewhere on the planet, reruns are still shown every day. With each rebroadcasts, certain royalty payments MUST BE MADE to the Castaways in order to keep the Attorneys happy. In this same spirit, the contract that Lou and I entered into is based on how many times this stupendous, performance documentary airs.

As of now, the royalty payment of one lunch with drink, is due every six months. Negotiations have been temporarily gridlocked over a biannual cold beer payment, due to the fact that Mr Czarnota has been banned from most all the establishments in his area that serve alcohol...

Happy spooling
