triple gauge pod - a pillar - keep original in place?

Hey all,

Installing a triple gauge pod on the a pillar. This new one doesn't 'wrap' around the pillar like the factory trim piece. Am I supposed to leave the original trim piece in place and just install the triple pod over it?

Is this a universal pillar? If so that's the problem, Got myself a "unversal" single pillar...waste of money IMO, with trimming it and trying to screw it in place.

This is a buick gn specific triple pod. Already has the right grey paint. I need to trim it anyway cuz I have ttops.

oh, then the stock unit needs to come out and put this in it's place( I think)

I just got a dual one from Gbody parts. it replaces the facotry pillar. fit pretty well had to do some trimming. the only problem i saw is that it doest have the factory lip that wraps toward the window. but it looks pretty dam good with the gauges installed.
