hey guys ive been having trouble finding a radiator locally for my GN. it seems that every radiator that i got does not have the fittings for the transmission cooler. do you guys have any suggestions? i dont want to order online and have the same problem.

I had the same problem a few years ago when I sprung a low pressure leak in my radiator. i went to the local autozone, o'reilly's and everywhere else and they had plenty of different radiators that LOOKED very similar, but none that have the tranny cooler lines. Anyways, just wanted to let you know I have noticed the same thing....I saw the REAL GN radiators somewhere (maybe poston buick???) or Kirban Performance but they are PRETTY expensive. If I were you and if you have ANY work done on your tranny I would reroute the trans cooler lines and hook them up to a external tranny cooler. Since I have done this to mine, the trans runs MUCH cooler and so does the engine. Of course there is the reproduction radiators for about 250.00 I believe...Hope that helps alittle. ; )

find a radiator repair shop locally that can fix your stock radiator.
even if it needs a new core, it shouldn't cost more than $100.

i tried my local pepboys, autozone, r&s, etc.. i was thinking of running a separate trans cooler but do i really need to? my car is stock dont really have much plans for it. just trying to get it back on the road.

Try a company called Visteon they do make it for the Gn .I just put mine in about month ago. 3 row and tranny & oil cooler , just like the stock replacement.I got it from amazon with free shipping. Check it out.

I just went through this. Get the f body radiator and dont look back. It has been discussed many times. I got one at NAPA for $90. Lost the oil cooler and used the rad cooler for the trans. Local recore for the high efficientcy core was $300. Arizona GN is the best bet for a recore. Still $285 plus shipping. I have one in the other car and it cools great with the front mount. Do a search here on the f body rad to save some money thou.

Try to find a local store that sells: AC-Delco p/n 20269, Spectra Premium (SPI) CU683, or Visteon 8683. But be prepared, the stock replacment radiators are now being made (or at least last summer they were) with the wrong fittings for the trans cooler. You'll need to find or fab a 5/16" inverted flare-to-5/16" inverted flare adapter.

I thought we had this problem figured out in this thread? http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/ge...lco-radiator-wrong-trans-cooler-fittings.html

I'm running the Delco 20269 in my 86GN and I'm satisfied with it's cooling performance. Long before the invention of the internet, well before any of the message boards we know today, I was probably the first guy who ever thought of running the F-Body job in my GN. IMO if it's a street car than pay the extra money for the OEM style radiator because they both do the same thing. There is some work envolved to get the F-Body radiator to fit and it ain't worth it in the long run if the car is stock.:)

I may be able to help!!

PM me if you'd be interested in a copper brass recore (used the old Bowling Green customs 5 row core) that reused my original Harrison tanks from my 87 GN.
Sincerely,
Tubohh

Dude! Just get a fbody radiator. Mine was 80 bucks to the house.

That plus cheap fluid cooler makes life :D

Is this radiator a direct bolt in with the correct fittings?

x2 im leaning towards the same thing. i figure this will only benefit me when i get the mod bug and start modifying my GN! it says on the website that it has the fittings for the trans cooler lines. does anyone have any input with this radiator? thanks for everyone elses response.
