Any members here among the TR's at Englishtown on friday night?

Including my white T Type I counted 6 TR's there: 3 Grand Nationals, 2 white T Types, and a blue Limited. Saw some other regals there but they looked like V8's.

Two of the grand nationals and the white T Type were pretty stock at low boost and ran in the 14's due to poor launch on regular tires. Mph's were good enough for high 13's though. The other grand national had a bigger turbo and modded engine but wasn't running much boost and I think turned a best of 13.0. Probably at least a mid 11 sec car with high boost and a good launch. I don't know if the Limited ran.

Talked to most of the guys and they seemed like nice guys. Hope to meet up with them again.

I ran my best time in my T Type, a 12.4. I didn't change anything since my last time at the track (posted in the drag racing forum) except switch the Nittos for my ET Streets.

I only did two runs because I got there late and didn't even give the car time to cool down, so I'm pretty happy. On the first run I had too much air in the tires and the car was a little hot but on the second run I lowered the air to about 17psi, did a little bigger burnout and had a good launch.

Full times are:
60' 1.70
1/8 7.85@88.0 mph
1/4 12.41@105.2 mph

I launched at @8lbs boost and it felt good and the front end got a little light and I had to correct the steering a good bit for the first time :D I only picked up 17mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4 so I'll have to see whats up. Might need more fuel pressure for my small injectors. Being hot probably cost a couple mph too.

This was at a little less than 21lbs boost (I actually peeked at it during the run for once taking my eyes away from the track and the knock gauge). Running a 100 Octane chip with mostly 100 octane UL with some 116 mixed in to be safe. Next time I want to try about 22.5lbs boost.

Might be time to start thinking about upgrading the rear sway bar and control arms because I'm sure the car will only take so many of these hard launches. I have new rear springs, shocks, and airbags. I want to try a 15lb launch  The ET Streets feel so much better than the Nittos and I'll probably lower them to 15psi next time and shoot for some 1.6x 60 foots.

Figure I should be able to get down to a 12.1 before stepping up to a full race chip or maybe getting some bigger injectors.

Anyway, good to see some fellow TR's at the track.

I was there Friday nite....But didnt have the GN with me...Its not ready to come and play yet......;)

I talked to the guys with the GN's and the other white T...

I didnt get a chance to catch up to you...But I was trying to Meet all the TR guys there..

I am only about 20 minutes from RacewayPark....Next time your going...shoot me an E-mail...and I will catch you down there..I am there almost every Friday nite..:D

I was there yesterday with my buddy Art trying to get my car dialed in.

I hope to get down there later in the week if all goes well, maybe see you guys down there.

I'll look for you guys there. I usually go on Wed night but was surprised to that there wasn't as many people there on a nice Friday night. They were doing drifting also so maybe that took away part of the ricer crowd. Fridays are hard becasue I usually work late.

Next time I may just go and watch since I'm in no rush to start breaking things on my car. I'd like to see what some of the vettes and vipers are running, not to mention some of the mustangs and camaros I see there.

Rich, ever figure out the starting issues you had with the car?

Honestly don't know...........just did burnout and she had a hard time starting but thankfully she turned over, 2 weeks ago she did same thing is staging lanes..........always nice holding up guys behind ya........lol. I replaced crank sensor and had a wire in fuse box that wouldn't stay hot so I switched it and so far.....knock wood the car starts. We're getting there slowly but surely.

Maybe see you guys friday night.

Murphster, where were you on Saturday when it was raceday? I was disappointed with the turnout for the GM High Tech shootout. Not many Buicks and hardly any fast cars. Rich's car was fast, but I only saw it run once.

I agree with Ben the turnout for the High Tech Shootouts ain't what they used to be............kinda going the way of the old Grand National Showdowns..........now those were the days back in late 80's early 90's where the lanes were filled with a sea of black cars. heck there is only one "offical" Buick event at Etown this year and it's Buick weekend.......not even any Buick vs Mustang event anymore.

Rich- Looks like you will have to go to the Bowling Green event to see that :D There still the two BPGs events in Ohio.

Artie

Artie,

Think you know my feelings on BG.........lol. I am not sure if I can make the BPG event as I am starting a new job next week and not sure I can get the time off just yet.

Talk to ya soon.

Murphster

Maybe we'll run into each other. If you see the blue limited there...its prolly me. (Havent seen too many blue limited T's around lately...or ever. :)

i was there on saturday and made 4 passes. met 2 guys from ny, nice guys if your here, cant remember there names though. thought i would see more buicks there too though.:( i was the guy in the grey t.:D

Rich, was your car the fastest at low 10's? I don't recall seeing anyone faster. I miss seeing Cotton and other miscellaneous 8 and 9 second cars run.

Ben, yeah we went 10.12 & 10.14 and we stayed for the night session and 1st run my wastegate decided to crap the bed so I couldn't build more than 3 psi on the tranbrake so we put it on the trailer and went home........lol.

Wastegate is being fixed as we speak and hope to get to the track Friday night.

Stay well.

I'm still getting the car dialed in and I'm debating to upgrade my rear suspension before I run it again. Felt like my whole rear end is getting crushed, which it probably is. But yeah, soon I need to start representing.

Also, my radio fell most of the way out on my 1.70 launch. Had to get that fixed on saturday because it started shorting out and I was worried it probably wasn't the safest thing. Debated whether to take it out and put the stock one back in but ended up getting a new Alpine head unit instead. Sounds good with kenwood speakers all around and an Alpine 4 channel amp in the back and an old Pioneer amp for my little bazooka tube sitting in the spare tire area. Gotta have tunes!
