i'm looking for a new truck,i need opinions,i'm looking at a 2500hd with a 6.0 or the new 1500 with the 6.2,i will not be towing a whole lot,and when i do i have a aluminum featherlite trailer,the thing i don't like about the 1500 is if you get a crew cab you can't get a 6 1/2 bed you get a 5' 8" bed,the 2500 you can get the 6 1/2 with the crew cab,diesel is not a option i'm done with them,i will be towing in the mountains sometimes when i do tow.i'm looking at 2010 models and the ltz version,i like the denali pickup but not real sure about the awd,they made me a killer deal on a 2008 denali that has every option available including dvd and navigation and the 6.2,is it awd all the time,and how would it be in the snow not having control of the 4wd,no hi or low selector.thanks for any help given

My brother in law has a 05 Ram 2500, still has the original brake pads on it at 94K. Runs good and has been reliable. Tows pretty good too.

I hope you have stock in a gas station. My Dodge diesel, crew cab, long bed, gets right at 25 mpg.

I have an 02 silverado 200000 miles .waiting till dec to get an 2011 6 liter.I cant see going the extra 15 k for a duramax I dont tow that much and the 6.0 i have does a fine job towing my 24 foot trailer and 24 foot boat

We have a Duramax Z71 4x4 and an AWD Denali and I will say that if you aren't going to tow more than say 7,000 lbs get the Denali. You'll love it. A 1/2 ton rides so much better than a 3/4 or 1 ton especially if you're going to be using it as a daily driver. The AWD will surprise you too.

We had a large snowstorm here this past winter and I had to go to work. I grew up in an area that gets quite a bit of snow so I drove in it all the time and for the most part know what I am doing. I tried several times with several different strategies to get the Duramax up the driveway but it simply wouldn't do it no matter what. I thought I would try my wife's Denali instead just for the heck of it, plus it was kinda fun to play in the snow. Boy was I surprised when I went right up the driveway with virtually no issues right through where the Duramax wouldn't go anymore.

Cant go wrong with GM.. there powertrain warrenty is unbeatable.. I plan on buying a new truck , I think im going with the Duramax and allison tranny.. but thats AFTER i buy my TB!!!

The 6.0 v8s that GM has got some power.. i think its rated a lil over400hp and like 480some ft lbs of tq. I beleive there at the high end of mpg's in the truck catagory as well.. Atleast more the Ford!!!!
