About a year ago i took out my 109 motor and put in a stage 274 inch motor. The car has big stuff on it trying to tune it nothing would take as far as timing or fuel changes. headers always glowed with barely a load on it. what might be causing this?

Sounds like late spark timing. The spark probably needs to occur much earlier. The majority of combustion heat is going down the header tube instead of creating pressure in the combustion chamber. Any idea what you have in the base timing table for a given load and RPM?

The cam sensor could be a tooth off. Or the timing needs to be set with the cam sensor.

To be honest cant remember what the timing is off hand been a while since i had time and money to play with it. Had it on the dyno thought when we found this problem and checked timing then and it was right on. So cam sensor being a tooth off can cause this problem? What does cam sensor time injectors or spark?

Had the same thing happen to my truck. I put in a stroker motor and the header would glow even at idle checked and changed everything turn out the distributer was a tooth off.

With ANY aftermarket computer install, you should verify timing as soon as you get it running.
