turbo 400

Hey guys,
just had my 400 rebuilt and put in the car last night. Put fluid in it this morning and was checking it out but i have no forward gears or reverse. Do any of you have any suggestions?
Anything at all would help i'm stumped.

Hmmm.

Hope the pump gear isn't broken.

Does the fluid level change when you start the engine? If the pump is working, the fluid level should drop when the engine is running as compared to when its not.

If it is pumping, there may be a linkage problem. Its possible that the manual valve in the valve body isn't engaged with the transmission shift arm. You'll need to drop the pan to check that.
